NEXT GENERATION RESOURCE GOVERNANCE LEADERS PROGRAM (COHORTS 5)
The Next Generation Resource Governance Leaders Program offers a three-month internship focusing on both theory and practical application. The aim is to provide participants with multidisciplinary intellectual growth, practical skills, and research abilities to address complex governance challenges innovatively. This program intends to cultivate a pipeline of young pan-African leaders to contribute to sustainable governance.
The initiative emphasizes structured capacity development, including leadership, career growth, and digital communication skills. Alongside technical resource governance training, interns will receive guidance on setting personal and professional goals and ethical leadership training.
ACEP invites applications for the 5th cohort of the program, which will run from September to December 2023. NextGen Leaders' responsibilities encompass contributing to policy analysis, media engagement, program planning, development support, resource mobilization, and monitoring and evaluation activities in Africa's energy and extractive policy sectors.
Eligible candidates should be young Africans with relevant academic qualifications, strong analytical skills, effective writing abilities, multitasking capabilities, and a sense of leadership. The program provides training, coaching, stipends, accommodation, and return tickets for participants. They are offering a remote law student internship for Fall 2023, involving legal research, writing projects, and support for grassroots and national campaigns focused on technology-driven immigration enforcement and local policing. The internship requires 10-15 hours per week and offers a stipend of up to $1,500. This internship is open to students with strong legal research and writing skills, a commitment to racial and immigrant rights, and preferably some knowledge of immigration law.
